The process

Our design process is a step-by-step phased collaborative approach. Our main aim is to deliver a project that goes above expectations.

First, we take time to understand your needs, lifestyle, and goals. These ideas are developed into a detailed design proposal and garden plan, incorporating planting schemes, fencing, and landscaping features where required. Throughout the process, we provide regular updates and meetings, ensuring every stage stays aligned with your vision and delivers a practical, attractive outdoor space tailored to your home.

Once all the designs are complete, we provide a comprehensive quotation that reflects the chosen design; this is presented to you. Once finalised, we undertake the design build. Project managing any external subcontractors if required for specialist build works. We ensure that our external contractors are vetted and talented landscapers to bring the design to life. To take the stress off you, we will be available for site inspections throughout the build process to ensure the project is built as specified.

Our services include:

  • Concept to detailed masterplan

  • Material moodboard

  • Optional 3-d imagery

  • Planting plan

01. Consultation

  1. The design process starts with a site visit and initial consultation. The priority is to obtain a thorough understanding of your aspirations and requirements for the garden, as well as getting a feel for the existing space.

  2. Following from this, a written design brief is sent to you, outlining the fee structure, design process, and a comprehensive summary of your goals for the space.

Site survey

  1. Depending on the site and project requirements, advice will be given on if a professional landscape surveyor is required. This is an essential stage that accurately accounts for level changes, existing structures and services which could influence the design and construction.

02. Concept design

  1. A concept document is produced which typically includes 1 layout sketch for your garden with supporting precedent images to illustrate a feel for the style and material finishes proposed. This document will also include outline ideas about planting, furniture and lighting.

  2. Once we’ve created the concept design, we shall organise a time to present this, explaining the ideas and creativity behind the drawing.

03. Detailed design and costing

  1. Upon acceptance of the concept plan, a final detailed master plan drawing is produced and presented to you, indicating the types of materials and planting mixes for the design.

  2. We also offer 3-D imagery to help you bring the sketch plan to life.

  3. We then work on a design quotation that will indicate a breakdown of the garden design costs, which is presented to you.

  4. In addition, planting plans, schedules and supporting mood boards are drawn up and presented for approval before sourcing.

04. Build implementation

  2. We oversee any external contractors that are required to undertake any specialist work. We ensure regular monitoring of this process, which involves regular / pre-arranged site visits from us to monitor quality and progress of works but also deal with any design queries.

05. Planting design and implementation

  1. Charlie will come to your garden and liaise with the nursery for delivery and scheduling. Plants will be transferred into the garden and set out as per the planting plan.

  2. A plant health check is carried out during this process to ensure that all planting does not consist of any damage or pests and diseases.

  3. The planting plan shows the locations of all the proposed plants, along with a plant schedule listing the specific trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, grasses and climbers.

  4. A mood board of all plants is included so that you get a feel for the look we are aiming to achieve, and a maintenance schedule is supplied.
